Description Purpose: This paper is devoted to the evolution of corporate governance solutions. Its aim is to analyse global, mainly Anglo-Saxon, and German experience in the field of corporate governance, and then attempt to answer the question to what extent this experience can be used in the countries of Central Europe like Poland.Approach: In the first part of the paper the author conducts a review of the world literature and presents the most important conclusions from the discussion on the need for changes in both concepts: Anglo-Saxon and German. Based on this analysis, the author pointed out possible directions of changes in the Polish solutions. Implications: The author suggests that the Polish corporate governance does not correspond to the present changes in Western solutions in this area.
