The Moroccan northern coast between Ceuta and the frontier with Argelia is nowadays one of the emergent touristic regions with greater importance in this extensive world destination, that it is composed of the whole of countries that surround the Mediterranean Sea. Although the touristic development model, that has been promoted up to now, has tried to minimize environmental and landscape marks, this objective has not always been reached. Paradoxically, nevertheless, the crisis that nowadays exists in the main investment countries in this sector could be the best ally of the environmental interests, since a lot of projects has been stopped, which, in our opinion, must be deeply redefined in the future, not only in their sizes, but in their territorial impacts.
La costa septentrional marroquí comprendida entre Ceuta y la frontera con Argelia, se presenta actualmente como una de las regiones turísticas emergentes de mayor significación dentro de ese gran destino planetario que conforman el conjunto de países bañados por el mar Mediterráneo. Aunque el modelo de desarrollo turístico que se ha impulsado hasta el momento ha procurado minimizar los impactos ambientales y paisajísticos, no siempre lo ha conseguido. De forma paradójica, sin embargo, la crisis que azota en estos momentos a los principales países inversores en el sector, puede acabar convirtiéndose en el mejor aliado de los intereses ambientales desde el momento en que ya ha obligado a paralizar muchos de esos proyectos, los cuales, a nuestro modo de ver, deberán replantearse profundamente en el futuro tanto en sus dimensiones como en las afecciones territoriales de los mismos. |
