As an undergraduate peer writing tutor, I have the privilege of working one-on-one with students. By virtue of my placement in an academic “borderland,” I am also able to observe the ways students are served by their institutions, as well as the ways those institutions fail them. As sites for praxis, writing centers become prime locations for resisting standardization and the corporate model of higher education.
