ABSTRAKIsu ketidaksamaan agihan kekayaan negara menjadi persoalan sejagat dalam kalangan sarjana ekonomi di barat dan timur. Evolusi idea pemikiran pembangunan ekonomi moden Adam Smith dan Karl Marx telah menjadi latar belakang dasar pertumbuhan dan agihan sumber kekayaan ekonomi dunia ditadbir oleh samada aliran kapitalis atau sosialis-marxis dan dasar ekonomi campuran liberal kapitalisme. Dari pihak yang lain dunia telah dikenali dengan falsafah ekonomi China dan India di Timur dan Ekonomi Islam di negara-negara Muslim. Tegasnya, apa sahaja sistem ekonomi yang digunapakai di Malaysia sebagai negara sedang membangun, fungsi kepimpinan negaralah yang menentukan dasar ekonomi dilaksanakan dengan pengurusan dan tadbir urus berkesan, cekap, adil, saksama, demokratik, terbuka, liberal, bebas dan sebagainya adalah antara slogan-slogan penting dalam agenda pembangunan negara Malaysia diperdebatkan hingga kini. Apakah model ekonomi unggul, terbaik dan alternatif ideal untuk menyelesaikan persoalan kemunduran rakyat yang dikaitkan dengan kemiskinan di Malaysia. Isu keadilan dan ketidaksamaan sosio-ekonomi tetap menjadi agenda negara dan umat manusia sejagat di Malaysia.Kata kunci: agihan pendapatan; kemiskinan; jurang pendapatan; agama IslamABSTRACTThe issue of unequal distribution of national wealth has become a global problem among the western and easterneconomic scholars. The evolution of modern growth economic ideas like Adam Smith and Karl Marx has become thebackground of world’s development and wealth distribution policies, either among capitalist or Socialist-Marxist or liberal mix capitalism. On the other side, the world has also been known by the economic philosophy from China and Indian in eastern or by Islamic economist in Muslim countries. Therefore, which ever economic system applicable for Malaysia as developing country, the leadership will determine the economic policies to be implemented either effectively, efficiently, justice, fairness, democratic, openness, liberal and freedom as a slogan for development model which have been debated until now. What is the ideal or the best to economic model to overcome problems related to back wardness and poverty problem in Malaysia. The role of justice and socio economic inequality still remain as national agenda and human kind in Malaysia.Keywords: income distribution; poverty; income gap; Islamic religion
