Education is essential to enhance personal knowledge and skill, which enable an individual to operate ideally in the society and manage basic requirements of survival. Education is the vehicle through which one can achieve success in life, and while we talk about the tea garden labourer they also need to improve their educational status which may result in positive way and lead them a much better life that they deserve. But educational opportunities in the tea garden areas are limited and at a backward stage. Hence a study on educational status among tea garden labourer is essential. In this paper an attempt has been made to analyze the Social background and educational status among the tea garden labourer in Borbarooah and Madarkhat Tea Estate.
