Description The purpose of this paper is to examine the roles of the business faculty member as leader, mentor, and learner in the faculty-student relationship, calling upon insights from informed scholars in clarifying these roles. Section One provides a literature review summary of the key ideas of scholars about these three roles and integratesthose roles into the faculty/student relationship. Section Two identifies five specific benefits for students when faculty adopt an expanded leader-mentor-learner role and provides a framework for business faculty to expand those roles. Section Three identifies the contributions of this paper and challenges business school faculty to examine how they can become more effective by incorporating leader-mentor-learner roles in their own teaching approach.
