Summary, etc. This study revealed the socio-economic characteristics of hog plum cultivators, the profitability of its cultivation, the problems encountered by its cultivators and some recommendation for the betterment of its cultivators. Data were collected from 102 farmers by using simple random sampling technique under Jhalokathi district. The Hog plum cultivators expressed individual differences in their socio-economic characteristics, 52% cultivators are only primary school passed, highest 33.33% cultivators depended on agriculture, 85.5 % cultivators use their own land & 71% cultivators use their own capital for Hog plum cultivation. 37.26% cultivators are cultivating Hog plum for more profit as main job & average profit is around 270000 taka per hectare and 24.5% of cultivators have accessed better marketing facilities. 48% cultivators are bound to sell their fruits before maturity for want of money. Major problems which are encountered by Hog plum cultivators like imperfect marketing channels, pricing mechanism etc.83% of cultivators think that exporting can plays a pivotal role for flourishing this minor fruit cultivation.
