Description The official inauguration, in January of 2008, of the Mining Park of Almadén supposes the end of a process of revaluation of the mining and industrial heritage to the mining of quick silver in the town of Almadén in the southwest of the province of Ciudad Real (Castilla-La Mancha). A museum of great singularity, guaranteed by the Institute of the Spanish Historical Heritage (Ministry of Culture), that allows the visitor to descend to a real mine, to contemplate a material heritage of great value, sometimes unique in the world, as it happens with the furnaces of distillation, and to know the mining culture like part the immaterial heritage. This initiative supposes an alternative for the development in a mining river basin that expire because it has paralyzed its extractive activity in 2001 and two years later, in 2003, has closed its metallurgical activity.
La inauguración oficial, en enero de 2008, del Parque Minero de Almadén supone el final de un proceso de revalorización del patrimonio minero-industrial vinculado a las explotaciones de cinabrio-mercurio existentes en el municipio de Almadén al suroeste de la provincia de Ciudad Real (Castilla-La Mancha). Una iniciativa museística de gran singularidad, avalada por el Instituto del Patrimonio Histórico Español (Ministerio de Cultura), que permite al visitante descender a una mina real, contemplar un patrimonio material de incalculable valor, en ocasiones único en el mundo como ocurre con los hornos de destilación, y conocer la cultura minera como parte del patrimonio inmaterial. Esta iniciativa supone una alternativa para el desarrollo en una cuenca minera que agoniza pues ha paralizado su actividad extractiva en el año 2001 y dos años más tarde, en 2003, ha clausurado su actividad metalúrgica.
