Description This paper aims to analyze the impacts of alcohol consumption on academicachievement of college students in Thailand. From a survey of 608 collegestudents in a university in Bangkok, academic achievement (measured by theirGrade point Average) is found to be negatively affected by their alcoholconsumption’s behavior. We also use instrumental variable techniques to correctfor the endogeneity and simultaneous equation model. We also find that thestudent’s personal characteristics and studying behavior have also statisticallysignificant impact on the academic achievement.
