Description |
This study investigates the effect of inflation and trade deficit on economic growth in Pakistan during the period 1995-2017. The researcher carried out research on the effects of inflation and trade deficit on economic growth and the casual relationship between inflation and trade deficit and their effect on economic growth. A comparison of empirical evidence is obtained from the correlation and error regression models using Statistics websites. The study found evidence of a long-run positive and relationship between GDP growth rate and inflation for Pakistan. Results also indicate that in developing countries like Pakistan there are other factors that explain GDP than inflation and therefore to study GDP in developing countries, there is need to employ more factors other than inflation alone. These results have important policy implications. Moderate inflation is helpful to growth; thus, Pakistan should ensure that it`s inflation doesn’t move to a double digit.
