Consumer behaviour is a study of understanding how a consumer makes decision about purchasing products. Today communication has become easier due to smartphones. There is huge demand of electronic gadgets like smartphones, laptops, i-phones among college going students. The present study has made an attempt to understand consumer buying behaviour of selected students for smartphones. This study has selected smartphone because students own and use smartphone for calling, using internet, entertainment and educational purpose. This study is carried out to examine factors influencing purchase of smartphones by students and their satisfaction level towards selected brands of smartphones owned and used by them. Convenience sampling method was used to collect primary data from respondents. Questionnaires were administered to 100 respondents and the data was analyzed with the help of SPSS software. Chi square test was performed to examine the relationship between demographic characteristics of respondents and ownership of their brand of smartphones. It was observed that respondents own popular brands of smartphones. There was no association between gender and ownership, education and ownership, monthly income and ownership of smartphones. There was significant difference between age groups of respondents and their ownership of smartphones. This study concludes that factors influencing purchase of smartphones were applications, good quality and Wi-Fi feature. And respondents showed high level of satisfaction towards their brand of smartphones used by them.
