Description In April 2013, the Leonard Lief Library of Lehman College, City University of New York, was offered the opportunity to submit a proposal for renovation. Unfortunately, the deadline was July, which left little time for systematic research and assessment.

This article explains how, with limited time and resources, librarians at Lehman College completed a survey of student satisfaction with library space. The authors discuss how they created and distributed a brief paper survey (provided as an appendix), devised a quick-and-dirty coding system, and worked as a group using Google spreadsheets to compile survey results. Mistakes and lessons learned are recounted.
