Description The increased participation of mothers in the work force had gave awareness particularly to the employers in the urban formal sectors of the need to help employees to balance their work and family responsibilities. A research had been carried out among women who had previously and currently working. The result showed that satisfaction with work/ family is an important factor for the employees’ job satisfaction. The use of flexible working hours appears to help employees, particularly mothers to face their dual functions.Keywords: Working flextime; responsibilities; work; family; dual functionsABSTRAKPeningkatan penyertaan ibu dalam tenaga kerja telah memberi kesedaran khusus kepada majikan dalam sektor formal di bandar tentang keperluan untuk membantu pekerja mereka mengimbangi tanggungjawab kerja dan keluarga. Kajian telah dilakukan dalam kalangan wanita yang pernah dan masih bekerja. Adalah didapati bahawa kepuasan dengan imbangan kerja/keluarga adalah faktor penting dalam kepuasan kerja. Kegunaan waktu kerja fleksibel didapati dapat membantu pekerja, khususnya ibu bagi menghadapi dwi fungsi mereka.Kata kunci: Waktu kerja fleksibel; tanggungjawab; kerja; keluarga; fungsi dwi
