Description This work was conducted at the Energy Plant "Antonio Maceo" (Renté), in the province of Santiago de Cuba, under the Ministry of Energy and Mining. Aims to study the improvement of the planning process and as field of action the econometric modeling applied to the production of electricity. The overall objective of this research is to develop estimates of electricity generation and its total costs, and the analysis of the influence of production factors, using econometric techniques. In order to fulfill the above objective was used and perfected the "Information System for the Calculation of Production Estimates" (SICEP), which determines the response functions, considering the main factors influencing the electricity generation and its total costs. The results allow to show that the most influential factor in the generation of electricity is the fuel, it appreciated by analyzing the standardized b coefficient that reflects the highest value (0,39). Furthermore, the most influential factor in the total cost of generation is the additive, which shows a coefficient b standardized 0,51. The estimates given show the standard error values almost coincide with the standard deviation obtained in the reporting of error normality. The results will be useful to the process of production planning and securing materials from it. 
Este artículo refleja las acciones investigativas desarrolladas en la Central Termoeléctrica "Antonio Maceo Grajales" (RENTÉ), de la provincia de Santiago de Cuba, perteneciente al Ministerio de Energía y Minas. Tiene como objeto de estudio el perfeccionamiento del proceso de planificación y como campo de acción la modelación econométrica aplicada a la producción de energía eléctrica. El objetivo general de la investigación es realizar estimaciones de la generación de energía eléctrica y de sus costos totales, así como el análisis de la influencia de los factores productivos, mediante técnicas econométricas. Para el cumplimiento del objetivo antes mencionado se utilizó y perfeccionó el "Sistema Informático para el Cálculo de los Estimados de Producción" (SICEP), el cual permite determinar las funciones de respuestas, considerando los principales factores manejables que influyen en la  generación de energía eléctrica y en sus costos totales. Los resultados permiten demostrar que el factor más influyente en la generación de energía eléctrica es el combustible, apreciado esto a través del análisis del coeficiente b estandarizado que refleja el valor más alto (0,39). Por otro lado, el factor más influyente en el costo total de generación es el aditivo, que muestra un coeficiente b estandarizado de 0,51. Las estimaciones que se ofrecen muestran valores del error estándar casi coincidentes con la desviación típica obtenida en el reporte de normalidad de los errores. Los resultados serán de utilidad al proceso de planificación de la producción y al aseguramiento material del mismo.
