Summary, etc.
For entrepreneurs the requirement to manage their life at work and life away from work becomes an important factor in determining their effectiveness. India is still new to the Work Life Balance concept and initiatives taken across the globe. The present study has been carried out to evaluate the nature of Work Life Balance, as experienced by entrepreneurs in Indian context. For this purpose a survey was carried out to estimate a Work Life Balance Index of entrepreneurs. This index was composed of the factors related to an individual’s life, namely stress (work related), personal concept, leisure activities and social obligations. An attempt was also made to determine the work life balance awareness amongst the Indian employees. The findings reveal that there exists a distinct difference of Work Life Balance between male and female entrepreneurs and this difference is also visible across the marital status. The author through the survey has also identified the initiatives taken by the government, organizations, family and the individuals to maintain the Work Life Balance.

Keywords: Entrepreneurs, Leisure Quotient, Personal Quotient, Work life balance, Stress Quotient

For full paper: fmscresearch@sjp.ac.lk
