Description The relationship between human resourcesmanagement and corporate socialresponsibility is also subjected to extensivedebates, discussions and investigations. Therole of HRM in corporate social responsibility isprimarily examined in this paper. Karnatakastate is a leader in industrial and businesssectors of national economy. Karnataka has thepotential to move to be within the top threeranks on an all India basis on these humandevelopment indicators by 2025. Practically, itis not possible to bring the personnel under acommon umbrella, make them work togetherand put forth united efforts for the developmentof the organization in the absence of systematicdevelopment of HRM system. Corporate SocialResponsibility (CSR) is both a high profilenotion which the business world perceives asstrategic and a prominent concept in academia.CSR can involve a range of activities such asworking in partnership with local communities, socially sensitive investment, developingrelationships with employees, customers andtheir families, and involving in activities forenvironmental conservation and sustainability.Human resource management can play asignificant role so that CSR can become the newway of life and facilitate the development ofsociety. The past studies did not indicate thefactors contributing to the HRM efficiency fromcorporate social responsibility point of viewwith special reference to corporate houses inKarnataka state. The investigation reveals thatit is imperative to formulate specific policies onCSR and HRM in the new millennium sincemodern corporate houses are required to liveup to the expectations of the people who mattermost in the civil society.
