Description The Caux Round Table (CRT) is based on thebelief that he world business community shouldplay an important role in improving economicand social conditions. As a statement of itsaspirations, it developed a document that aimsto express a world standard against whichbusiness behavior can be measured.The Caux Round Table was founded in 1986 byFrederick Philips, former President of PhilipsElectronics and Olivier Giscard d’Estaing,former Vice-Chairman of INSEAD, as a means ofreducing escalating trade tensions. The CRTPrinciples for Business were formally launchedin 194, and presented at the United NationsWorld Summit on Social Development in 195.The CRT Principles for Business articulate acomprehensive set of ethical norms forbusinesses operating internationally or acrossmultiple cultures. The CRT Principles forBusiness emerged from a series of dialoguescatalyzed by the Caux Round Table during thelate 1980’s and early 190’s.
