Description The realities o f life show that nowadays work stress is a major workplace problem as compared to the past and it has become among the major causes that contribute to workplace accidents and injuries. The occurrence ofwork stress is quite rampant in manufacturing organizations involving blue collar workers. The literature reveals that poor ergonomics workstation environment is among the major contributor to the work stress problems. Thus, this study aims to examine the relationship between ergonomics workstation factors and the work stress outcomes. Using the proportionate stratified random sampling method five hundred samples of manufacturing operators were chosen from eleven manufacturing electronics organisations that are registered with the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCl). Questionnaires were usedfor the data collections process. The major findings show that ergonomically designed workstation is an important strategy in minimising the work stress outcomes in organisations. Through the multiple regression analysis, ergonomics workstation factor collectively show significant relationship with the workstress outcomes. The multiple regression analysis shows, humidity, body postures, working hours, work area design, lighting and work shift factors have significant relationship with work stress outcomes. Overall, the findings of this research are important to organizations which are in need o f healthy and competent human resources in line with the aspiration of a dynamic human capital development as stated under the Ninth Malaysia Plan.
