The dynamics of the price of natural gas affects almost all the final prices of goods and services, which is why it is also important to know the trends that are observed in its market. The present study focuses on some of the leading international gas market trends, focusing on natural gas consumption as it defines the demand for this raw material and hence its price. The conclusions of the study are the result of qualitative and quantitative analysis of facts and data on the natural gas market. The main conclusion reached is that gas consumption is growing internationally, and Bulgaria is among the countries with the smallest share of gas in its energy mix.
