Description European transport policy emphasizes the development of maritime transport and inland waterway transport. The key components are two - reducing the congestion of road and rail infrastructure and air pollution. They are developed through the establishment of transport links and inland waterway services and more efficient port services. The growth of port transport services also has a significant impact on the environment, which is accompanied by the need to build strategic, evolving ports. This research explores some aspects of sustainable port development and proposes a guideline for the expansion of the Water Transport Simulation Subsystem, which is part of the Unified Ecological System of Navigational Water Areas, with the aim of accurately forecasting the construction of ports required for their sustainable development.
