Entrepreneurship has been a core interest in public administration theoryand practice. The focus on entrepreneurial practices is important becauseit may address the increasing demand to effectively and efficientlyenhance government performance. Some perceive that shiftingorganizational strategies towards innovation may encourage orundermine individual motivation and behavior. While various studiesevaluated the consequences of entrepreneurial orientation (EO) in theorganization, the process through which they influence employees’ publicservice motivation (PSM) and organizational commitment (OC) hasreceived less attention. To address this gap, the study examines therelationship of entrepreneurial leadership, entrepreneurial orientation,PSM, and OC in a dataset of Korean civil servants. Results suggest thatEO is associated with PSM and OC. PSM partially mediated therelationship of EO and OC. Finally, the article points out the study’stheoretical, empirical, and practical implications and directions for futureresearch.
