Description This paper is based on my M.Phil. Research work. It attempted to describe sixth grade children’s response to Literature. The study was based on the theory of Reader Response. As a further refinement the study also probed the responses of the participants when the context is changed from restricted classroom to an informal one and also to look into the role of the teacher in influencing the response of the students. This study was however delimited only to Children’s Literature in Hindi. The findings confirm the reader response view. The responses of the participants demonstrated a variety centering not only on the textual details but on the transaction also.
