Abstract: Competition for redistribution of the global arms market acquires new forms, using the full arsenal of economic and non-economic methods. In this light, offset contracts are part of normal commercial relations and are increasingly seen as a new and very effective marketing mechanism to conquer new market share or maintain traditional markets. The article examines the state of the market for defense products, the nature of offset, offset activity governing bodies and characteristics of the offset.Keywords: offset transactions, market of defense products
