Description |
The aim of this study is to explore the bequest perceptions among older Malays aged 50 years or above in the state of Selangor, Malaysia with appropriate bequest models. The main objective of this study is to identify the main factors in explaining the motives of bequest transfers of older Malays in Malaysia. The stratified sampling was employed by the Department of Statistics Malaysia based on the Census of Malaysia 2010 to select eligible samples. This primary data was collected through face-to-face interviews using a structured questionnaire in the second quarter of 2011 with a total sample size of 280. From the findings, it is discovered that older Malays in Malaysia are more conformed to the altruism model than other bequest models.
