Description The current study was carried out to clear the role of Human resource management (HRM) practices on project success in project oriented organizations of southern Punjab, Pakistan. To investigate the importance of HRM practices Employees’ recruitment & selection (R&S), Employees’ performance & appraisal (P&A) and Employees’ training & development (T&D) were taken as predictor variable whereas project success was taken as criterion variable. The data was gathered through self-administered questionnaire and cluster sampling was utilized. A collection of 270 survey questionnaires were distributed among the employees of project oriented organization of southern Punjab, Pakistan. A total of 212 fully filled and valid survey forms had been retrieved. The gathered data was sent to SPSS for statistical tests. Firstly, the data was checked for its reliability using cronbachs’ Alpha and all the variables were found to have excellent value of reliability i.e. 0.7 and above. Secondly, we checked the correlation among three predictor variables and criterion variable project success, and the outcomes depict strong and noteworthy correlation among the said variables. Lastly, to check the hypotheses, we applied multiple regression analysis and the output revealed that two out of three HRM practices i.e. employees’ R&S and employees’ P&A had significant influence on the success of project while employees’ T&D had insignificant effect in project oriented organizations of southern Punjab, Pakistan. The results of the current research will help the management of project oriented organizations to invest their stake more on employees’ (P&A as well as R&S) and improve the criteria of employees’ T&D to enhance their skill in order to achieve maximum success rate in Pakistan.
