The objective of the study is to do an in-depth analysis of effect of recession on Banking Sector and its HR processes. It is an exploratory research. The sample size is 180 (60 employees from each of the three banks). The data was collected through a structured questionnaire. The sampling design used is Convenience Sampling. Certain processes in organizations are affected due to the recession which brings in major impact on recruitment, compensation & benefits, training & development and which in turn brings the innovation through HRM functions which are developmental and effective. It is necessary for both private & public sector banks to follow the developmental innovations by HRM which is necessary and beneficial to a large extent in a manner to cope up with the impact of recession on organizational processes.
