Summary, etc. |
Software development projects still fail to be delivered on time, within budget, and with the desired quality. One area of concentration in software project management that has developed to solve these problems is risk management. The objectives of this research are to identify key risks in software project management and to identify the most widely used risk identification methods in Sri Lanka. The research methodology is to arrive at a conceptual model, perationalize the model and to collect data for quantitative analysis. Percentage comparison analysis method is used to determine the most widely used risk identifi cation methods. Based on the analysis, it appears that requirements and clients are the main internal risk sources in software project management in Sri Lanka. “Software project’s scope is not firm and keeps expanding” is identified as the key risk item. “Use the past experience” is the most widely used risk identification method in Sri Lanka.
