Description |
Technical education as an emerging trend in 21st century goes on motivating students to get lucrative jobs in the competitive market. Accordingly institutions have been trying to streamline their syllabus structure and update their laboratories in order to make their students ready for corporate sectors. They hold pre- placement training, arrange industry exposure and provide relevant trainings. One of the innovative ideas is PO (Provocative Operation), as a creative tool, language tool or restructuring tool coined by Edward De Bono, father of Lateral Thinking, may add extra feather to their life skills before entering into the global market. This creative technique is Lateral Thinking skill that can be practiced even in the classroom in the presence of instructor and students. A lateral thinker uses PO technique diligently and never allows orthodox ideas to mount upon; however, trying for a solution in a particular problem using a traditional approach cannot be denied, but whether the best one comes out of it is a question. PO technique allows the person to go on finding more solutions. Though, a lot of institutions have started implementing this technique in India, for example IITs and management institutions, but it is limited within the syllabus. This paper focuses on the possible strategies that we may pick up while trying to restructure the established patterns either by doing brain storming or random entry. This paper aims at analyzing how PO technique as an anti-judgment device gets ready even to challenge assumptions and join two different ideas together to make an impact. Therefore, a collaborative effort among teachers and learners is the need of hour to make the aforesaid technique a reality. The device further aims at getting the students prepared to combat problems with a creative action.
