Description The paper revisits the concept of work life balance owing to gradual increase in participation rate of women in work force. If the balance between work and family is not managed, could lead to work family conflict. Women have need of professional growth and also the desire to have and care for children. Employee benefits play an important role towards easing the strain of work family conflict. The purpose of this paper is to understand the importance of employee benefits in achieving work life balance and the changing paradigm of organizations towards employee benefits. An examination of policies and practices of selected organization has been made in this context followed by analysis and certain suggestions for happier women workforce.
