Description This study was taken up to understand the self presentation of the users through their Facebook profile. Identity formation on social network is new trend among the internet users. This notion develops a concern for the researcher to examine the nature of sharing of himself on the site.  So, this study was conducted to explore the social identity or self disclosure of the Facebook user in the virtual world. The Content Analysis method was employed and the data collected from 100 Facebook users were subjected to analysis and interpretation. The sample was collected for a period of seven days in May, 2014. Key findings suggested that users are very conscious about their self disclosures through their basic information. However, very fewer users disclosed their age. Of course age was not the main reason for their dwelling in the cyber world.
