Description In the present paper we study the grad students’ labor market in the accounting study program at Chiapas university. This is done with sample studies in 2011 and 2013. In our results for 2011we found that students have difficulties for carreer development once they are hirde. In our findings for the same year, we note that 76% of the graduated students in accounting found job after one year of leaving school. From the same sample of students we also found that 86% had an income of less than 5 minimum wages and 59% of the same sample had an income of less than 3.5. Althoguh the sample of 2013 show an improvement in the data, the income profiles of most of the grad students (38%) is still below the 3.5 minimum wages and also we found that, in both samples, the students work extra time very often. As a conclusion, we give guidelines for future research and some comments for labor market development for accounting students.
El proceso de incorporación laboral de egresados de Contaduría de dos cohortes, entrevistados a dos años de ocurrido el egreso (2011 y 2013), muestra dificultades para escalar posiciones que se traduzcan en mejores remuneraciones, pues aun cuando 76% de la primer cohorte, antes de concluir la carrera, se había incorporado al mercado de trabajo, en puestos con mediana o total coincidencia con lo estudiado y 91% consiguió trabajo al egresar en menos de un año, las remuneraciones no rebasan cinco salarios (86%) y de éstos 59% están por debajo de 3.5; con ciertos, matices, la segunda cohorte, muestra comportamiento similar, pues aun cuando 88% consiguió trabajo en menos de un año, en 71% de los casos, no perciben más de cinco salarios y de éstos 38% se ubican por debajo de 3.5; adicionalmente 4 de cada 10 egresados, afirman que las jornadas laborales desarrolladas sobrepasan los límites legales.
