Subject

Description Alternative dispute resolution methods (ADR), although more than two decades old in northern-American and western-European legal systems, are almost unknown in Romania. Only arbitration in commercial matters and mediation of labor conflicts are regulated by law and practice. The present article describes the efforts made by lawmakers to pass a bill of mediation as a non-judiciary method of conflict resolution, and offers an insight into the main aspects contained in the project currently being discussed in the Romanian Parliament.
