Title RESEARCH NOTE: HOW DID ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND TRADEAFFECT WOMEN'S SHARE OF THE LABOR FORCE IN THE 1980s?

Creator Miller, Carol D.

Description Changes in women's share of the labor force are examined by analyzing data from 40 Less Developed Cmmtries and 20 more advanced industrialized countries. Results show that women did not gain any control of the labor force in the 1980s. Although Less Developed Countries (LDCs) moved toward convergence with advanced industrialized countries on measures of fertility and trade dependence, major economic and social differences remained.
