Description Employee motivation must be central to the interests of managers wishing to cultivate and develop the available human resources in addition to obtain increased performances. Traditionally, motivation was regarded as an individual phenomenon pertaining to only one business culture. This paper aims to analyze, through a contrastive approach, the role played by culture in both, the theoretical and the applied research conducted on work motivation.
