Description The present research is coming to deal with a constant need within the present-day Romanian institutional framework: building a model for Social Impact Assessment of programs and projects mainly for the public field. Social impact assessment (SIA) refers to the quantification of the net effects of a program upon groups, communities and upon the society in general. The objective of this study is to scan the most recent literature in the field, and to identify a social impact assessment model that can be used to assess a program financed from public money. The present study highlights useful information regarding the theory and practice of social impact assessment.
