When both India and Pakistan conducted underground nuclear tests in May 1998, these two South Asian countries joined an exclusive club whose motto might best be summed up by Robert Oppenheimer. When the "father" of the atomic bomb saw the first atomic explosion at Alamogordo, New Mexico on July 16, 1945, he said: "Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds!" Now that India and Pakistan have joined this group, how will South Asia change?
