Description As we know, in mid July 1999, Indonesia is suffering an economic crisis that shocked every economist in Indonesia, economic cycle jammed and many enemployment and "Pemutusan Hubungan Kerja" (PHK). The change of economical pattern either in the society or among the enterpreneur has gone in a drastic way and causes a very big trouble to the Indonesian government to stabilize the economic cycle.
Many economist from may kind of proffesion or any work field try to save there own business in their own way and limited only in a micro scale. Even in the economic crisis that coused by the weakness in rupiah to US $, the economist behavior make the rupiah weaker, becouse they with hold cash rupiah and cash US $. To over come it, Indonesian government give a secure guarantee to the banks consumers so they will agree to release cash at home and deposit the money in the bank. In that way the economic cycle will run again and ever better.
The purpose of this research is to see the differences of the economist behavior through their financial assets coused by the differences of proffesion and economical condition and how for they have been participated with the government policy in banking in January 1998.


Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia :

Seperti kita ketahui, pada pertengahan Juli 1997, Indonesia dilanda krisis ekonomi yang sangat mengejutkan para pelaku ekonomi Indonesia. Roda perekonomian menjadi macet, banyak terjadi pengangguran dan pemutusan hubungan kerja. Perubahan-perubahan pola ekonomi masyarakat maupun pengusaha secara drastis silih berganti, menimbulkan kesulitan besar bagi pemerintah Indonesia untuk menstabilkan jalannya roda perekonomian.
Berbagai pelaku ekonomi dari berbagai jenis profesi atau bidang usaha berusaha mnenyelamatkan usahanya masing-masing dengan cara mereka sendiri dan terbatas pada skope mikro saja. Bahkan dalam masa krisis ekonomi yang disebabkan melemahnya nilai tukar rupiah terhadap uang dolar Amerika, perilaku sebagian pelaku ekonomi justru memperberat jatuhnya nilai mata uang rupiah karena mereka menahan sejumlah tunai rupiah dan uang tunai dolar Amerika. Untuk menanggulangi hal ini pemerintah Indonesia memberikan jaminan keamanan bagi nasabah bank agar mereka bersedia melepas uang tunai di rumah dan mendepositokannya di bank. Dengan demikian roda perekonomian diharapkan dapat berputar kembali dengan lebih baik.
Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk melihat perbedaan-perbedaan perilaku pelaku ekonomi terhadap asset finansialnya karena adanya perbedaan jenis profesi dan perbedaan keadaan ekonomi yang terjadi serta sejauh mana antisipasi mereka terhadap kebijakan yang diberikan pemerintah di bidang perbankan Januari 1998.

Kata kunci : kebijakan pemerintah dibidang perbankan, deposito.
