Description The article proposes a new tariff for paying tuition UPTC. The formula has these characteristics: 1) Ses the recovery taking account socio-economic capabilities of students and not according to the career, 2) Keeps the total amount of revenue received by the university fromtuition fees, 3) It is equitable because peoplewith lower income pay relatively less, 4)Does not affect current structure of household consumption.The design of the tariff wasmade after reviewing the formulas of other public universities, and to examine the characteristics socioeconomic families of those admitted to in the context UPTC general household surveys 
En el artículo se propone una nueva tarifa para el pago de matrícula de la UPTC. La fórmula tiene estas características: 1) Fija el cobro teniendo en cuenta la capacidad socioeconómica de los estudiantes y no en función de la carrera, 2) Mantiene el monto global de los ingresos que recibe la universidad por concepto de matrícula, 3) Es equitativa porque las personas con menores recursos pagan relativamente menos, 4) No afecta la actual estructura de consumo de los hogares.El diseño de la tarifa se realizó después de revisar las fórmulas de las otras universidades públicas y de examinar las características socioeconómicas de las familias de los admitidos en la UPTC en el contexto general de las encuestas de hogares.
