The development of the energy sector is one of the main factors that affect the generaleconomic development of a country. In this context, it is one of the most importantfactors that influence, in the foreign investment.Albania has faced with problems in power sector during these years, because of ourelectricity resources are provided by 98% of water resources. So Albania is a countryentirely dependent on rainfall. Recent changes: global climate; increasing fuel prices; rapidgrowth of demand for electricity consumption; technological changes and the rising costof electricity require the development of new policies in the energy sector.This study aims to identify these factors that affect the production of electricity in ourcountry, opportunities that Albania has in this area and the efficiency of their use.Building a nuclear power plant in Albania is seen as a new opportunity for the sustainabledevelopment of the power sector.
