In this paper we present a methodology for measuring the contribution of the tourism sector to economic growth. The method disaggregates into economic growth generated by tourism and economic growth generated by the rest of the economic activities. Then the method is applied to the case of Spain, France, Italy, UK and USA, and the results are compared with those of some Latin American countries.
En este artículo se presenta una metodología para medir la contribución del turismo al crecimiento económico. Ésta consiste en el desglose del crecimiento económico generado por el turismo y el crecimiento económico generado por el resto de las actividades económicas. Después el método se aplica al caso de España, Francia, Italia, Reino Unido y Estados Unidos y los resultados se comparan con los de algunos países de América Latina. |
