| Description |
This paper deals with the issue of tourism in the Loreto-Nopoló-Puerto Escondido corridor, in the state of Baja California Sur, México. Since the early 1970's, this place was chosen by the Mexican Tourism Authority as one of the of the five suitable coastal resorts (IPC or Integrally Planned Centres) to be financed in order to promote tourism in the country. A brief historical account of Loreto as a tourist centre is presented in the paper, followed by some comments about its designation as IPC and resent weak dynamic as tourist corridor.
El presente trabajo muestra la situación actual del corredor turístico Loreto-Nopoló-Puerto Escondido, Baja California Sur, México. Este Corredor es uno de los cinco Centros Integralmente Planeados (CIP) que ideara el Fondo Nacional de apoyo al Turismo, dependiente del gobierno mexicano, en los años setenta. Se presenta una breve reseña histórica de la evolución del turismo en este lugar, su designación como CIP, y se examinan algunas razones por las que este centro no ha tenido el desarrollo que se esperó en un principio. |
