Description Since the mid of 1970s, the linguists recognized the variables in the language that had been studied in different social situations. Among these variables, gender factor was considered as the main variable in the analysis of the speech language which considerably differs from written language. The differences related to the gender have great impact on human life and clearly language is no exception in this regard. Men and women not only differ with each other biologically but also they are different in terms of the cognitive performances (Rahimzadehgan, 2008, p. 50). The society and social indices always have affected the language. Some indices such as gender, age, education, class and social state determine the kind of language application in the society (Hedayat, 2005, p. 2). Bilingualism is defined as knowing two languages by a person that can think of them simultaneously. A bilingual person, on the other hand, has the capability to express his manner by either two known languages. Expressing the manner may be affected by various factors. This study aimed at exploring the effect of gender and bilingualism on the requesting manner. According to the data, the mean score of the four groups under study; i.e., monolingual Persian men, bilingual Kurdish men, monolingual Persian women and bilingual Kurdish women were 5/13, 5/50, 6/27 and 6/00 respectively. As well, the standard deviations of the four groups were 5/08, 3/35, 3/69 and 2/69 respectively.
