Emotion as the main motive underlying the human behaviors is a conceptthat has been researched by many disciplines in the social sciences. Derivingfrom behavioral studies on emotions, Emotional Intelligence as acritical concept in organizational behavior studies is attached to theassestment of employee motivation and performance drivers. In this study, atheoretical framework for the emotional intelligence in workplace has beenassessed. The major contribution of the concept in competitive business strategiesfrom managerial scope has been evaluated.
