Description This study examines and finds the relationship among personality factors, job characteristics and achievement motivation of Gen Y workers in government sectors and private sectors of Thailand. Moreover this study compares personality factors, job characteristics and achievement motivation between workers in government sectors and workers in private sectors. 400 representative samples consist of 98 Gen Y workers in government sectors and 302 Gen Y workers in private sectors. The survey questionnaire was the method selected to collect primary data which was later processed and analyzed by SPSS for Windows in order to obtain important statistical data.            The study findings show Gen Y workers in private sectors have two personality factors, which are openness to experience and conscientiousness more than Gen Y workers in government sectors. Core job dimensions, which Gen Y workers in private sectors want more than Gen Y workers in government sectors, are task significant and feedback. Moreover this study finds that Gen Y workers in private sectors have achievement motivation more than Gen Y workers in government sectors. The relationship findings show the relationship among personality factors, job characteristics and achievement motivation. Seven variables from Big Five personality factors and core job dimensions in The Job Characteristics Model, that are autonomy, skill variety, conscientiousness, agreeableness, feedback, task identity and extraversion, can use to predict achievement motivation level.
