Description In this paper the results of a study aimed at the ancient thracian historical and cultural heritage and its importance for tourism are reported. The early thracian settlement models with the respective geographical distribution and the heritage that is typical on the territory of modern Bulgaria are inevstigated. Historical facts, some thracian cultural characteristics and ancient rituals are considered too. The existence of the Thracian cognate footprint and its direct impact on the Bulgarian culture is proved. The opportunities to develop new tourism products through internal cultural and historical corridor are displayed. A brief analysis of the current day tourist map of Bulgaria with its nine areas is made.Key words: tourism, Thracians, traditions, customs, rituals, regions
