Green supply chain is an emerging concept which aims at reconciling economic and environmental objectives of the supply chain. The aim of this paper is to explore the literature regarding green supply chain in order to clarify the different concepts, the points of synergy and difference between the traditional supply chain and green supply chain, a review of the relevant mathematical models for green closed-loop supply chain network design, and eventually we propose some research avenues.
