Description Current work aims at investigating impact of psychological empowerment and transformational leadership on organizational commitment in the Interior Ministry in descriptive – survey method. To this end, standard questionnaires of Spreitzer’s (1995) psychological empowerment, Bass and Avolio’s (2000) transformational leadership style, and Allen and Meyer’s (1990) organizational commitment were used. Their reliability based on Cronbach's alphawas reported as 0.76, 0.79, and 0.83. Statistical population includes employees of Interior Ministry (N = 1,600). According to Cochran formula, 310 of the employees were selected by simple random sampling. Pearson correlation test and stepwise regression analysis were used for statistical analysis. Findings suggest psychological empowerment (meaning, impact, self-determination, and competence) and transformational leadership dimensions (idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, individual consideration) are significantly and positively related to organizational commitment at 95% confidence level. Results indicate among components of psychological empowerment and transformational leadership, inspirational motivation, individual consideration, intellectual stimulation, meaning, idealized influence, impact are effective in predicting organizational commitment as 0.023, 019.030, 0.0, 0.020, 0.032 and 0.021.
