Description Agriculture could be understood as an economic oriented activity that directly influences the landscape. In the Czech Republic more than 50% of whole area is used by agriculture. The quantity as well as the quality of agriculture production is highly influenced by nature condition and again certain production structure often hardly effects the nature environment. For such stimulation of certain agricultural policy several instruments are used namely direct subsidies and so called purpose subsidies. Main aim of such direct subsidies is 10 evaluate non-production functions of agriculture and compensate lower yields in some marginal or less favored areas. Those payments are supported without respect to the quality of mentioned functions and often don't stimulate the farm to provide such non-production functions in certain quality. The second types of subsidies connected with environment are instruments used for stimulation of certain production type. Nevertheless the performed analysis of environmental subsidies efficiency shows that such types of subsidies are mostly short-term oriented and this aspect decreases strongly the efficiency of this funding. Prior research indicates needs for certain types of indicators for environmental and landscapes quality. These indicators could be used as basis for subsidies distribution and will be implemented as stimulation for increase of landscape environmental efficiency.
