Description The article discusses the issues of spatial distribution of the economic resources in the regional economy, under the influence of structural changes in one of the industries. Possible alternatives of the fishing industry in the region have been analysed. The bases and conditions for the development of cluster formations have been pointed out, and their advantage in comparison to vertically-integrated companies have been considered from the perspective of the attraction of resources into the regional economy.
