Description This article aims at highlighting the general tendencies that manifest in the field of tourism, at regional level in Romania, in comparison with Slovakia and Poland during the period after 2002. The first part presents several general landmarks at E.U. level, and then the analysis will focus on the three countries mentioned. Thus, one will follow through some indicators, among which: the number of accommodation places, the number of overnight stays, and the intensity of tourism. The available data permit one to observe the evolution of tourism in the three countries at a regional level for the last years. The study reveals several conclusion among which the fact that Romania is situated third after Poland and Slovakia as tourist activity, the latter having a larger intensity of this activity, as well as the fact that there are large discrepancies between regions from the point of view of tourist activity.
